Olsen Law Group uses ORouke and Associates to file medicaid applications for its clients

Attorney Tom Olsen: As far as getting somebody on Medicaid and having Medicaid pay for their nursing home, I know part of that planning is up to us to protect their life savings from nursing homes or cash, IRAs, home, vacation condo, et cetera. Once we get them all square, then who do we send to do a Medicaid application?

Attorney Robert Hidock: We send our application to O'Rourke and Associates. They've been in town forever. They have 100% approval rating of their Medicaid applications. They care about their clients, and we work very well together.

Tom: When we talk about trying to get this done by the end of the month, is our work already going to work while we're simultaneously working on doing our part or does the work only go to work after we've done our part?

Robert: Sometimes they will send someone to us. If they're trying to do a Medicaid application and they determine someone is over-income or they are over-asset, or as soon as someone comes to me and I hear they're in the rehab, at that point, I'm going to direct them to O'Rourke and Associates for either one of two things, to get them going on the Medicaid application itself or for them to get them on Medicaid's waitlist for the long-term care waiver.

Tom: Any idea how long it takes O'Rourke and Associates to get that application filed with Medicaid?

Interviewee: Generally, they can get it done within the month, but usually the biggest hold-up is people have to supply documents to them, verification letters of income, bank statements, the last three months of all financial statements. A lot of times the burden shifts back to our clients to get the proper documents to them that they need.
